stage-three-bundle-for-six-to-nine-in-solid-beech
Stage Three Bundle for Six to Nine in Solid Beech

A bundle drawn around one stage of childhood rather than around one room, 6 to 9 years. Everything in it works together and everything in it upgrades into the next bundle rather than being replaced.

Children's furniture has a short life and an expensive one, and most of that is avoidable. The pieces here are drawn to a single height ladder so a table, a chair and a shelf bought two years apart still work together, and most of them adjust or convert rather than being replaced. Where a piece genuinely cannot grow, we say so on this page rather than in the returns policy, and we tell you what it becomes instead, which is usually a piece of furniture for a younger sibling or a resale that holds most of its value.

Specification

Dimensions: see the contents list, all on the same height ladder

Age range: 6 to 9 years

Material: solid steamed beech, which is the timber most school furniture has been made from for a century because it dents rather than splinters

Finish: one finish batch, and we hold the batch for ten years

Load rating: as the individual pieces

Standards: BS EN 12520 and BS EN 12521 for domestic furniture, finish to BS EN 71 part 3, and the tip test in BS 4875

Edges and fixings: every exposed edge rounded to a 3mm radius, every fixing recessed and capped, and no pinch point anywhere a hand goes

Assembly: flat packed, about four hours in total

Weight: approximately 123.1 kilograms in total

Contents: one single bed with a low frame, one desk and an adjustable chair, one five bay shelf, one full height wardrobe, one reading corner chair

Saving against buying the pieces separately: about 13 per cent

Upgrade path: every piece either adjusts or has a conversion kit

Trade in: we buy our own pieces back at up to 40 per cent against the next bundle

One delivery

Batch record kept for ten years

In the box

One single bed with a low frame

One desk and an adjustable chair

One five bay shelf

One full height wardrobe

One reading corner chair

Anti tip restraints where a piece needs one

Corner caps, felt pads and spares

One hex key and one spanner

A stage card explaining what changes next and roughly when

Assembly and safety

Flat packed with a hex key and printed instructions. An anti tip restraint is in the box and it is not optional on this piece. Furniture tip overs injure a serious number of small children every year in this country and every one of them is preventable with two screws. If you cannot drill the wall, tell us and we will send the freestanding ballast kit instead at no charge.

How long it lasts

This adjusts as the child grows rather than being outgrown. The heights are on the same ladder as the rest of the range, so a table set for a two year old today lines up with a chair bought for a five year old in three years, and the adjustment takes one adult about five minutes with the hex key that came in the box.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0985/0516/3080/files/Stage_Three_Bundle_for_Six_to_Nine_in_Solid_Beech.jpg?v=1789245213
