Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving it, and you then have a further 14 days to return the goods. We give you 60 days, because a child's room takes a while to settle and because a bed you have lived with for a month is the only way to know if the height is right.
How to return something
- Email support@homartuk.com with your order number and what you are returning.
- We reply within one working day with a returns reference and a collection slot.
- Repack it in the original packaging if you still have it. If you do not, tell us and we will send flat pack protection.
Who pays
If the item is faulty, damaged in transit, mis-described or not what you ordered, we pay and we collect. If you have changed your mind, collection of a large item costs from £39 and is deducted from your refund; we tell you the figure before booking. Small items you can post back yourself.
Refunds
To your original payment method within 14 days of the goods coming back, or of proof that you have sent them. Because delivery was free, there is no outbound charge to refund.
We may reduce a refund for handling beyond what is needed to check the item. Assembling a bed, living with it and dismantling it is fine, that is what the 60 days is for. Cutting a panel, drilling it or painting it is not.
What cannot be returned on a change of mind
- Made to measure work — anything cut to your dimensions is exempt under Regulation 28(1)(b). Your rights if it is faulty are unaffected.
- Colour matched pieces sprayed to a shade you supplied.
- Mattresses once the hygiene seal is opened, unless faulty.
Faulty goods
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. A fault inside 30 days means you can reject the item for a full refund. Between 30 days and six months we repair or replace, and if that fails you can claim a refund.
Solid timber moves with the seasons. Small shrinkage gaps, grain variation and colour deepening over time are the material behaving normally and are not faults. A split through a structural member is.
Guarantee
Ten years on every frame we make, structural, against manufacturing defect. Three years on moving parts, drawer runners and hardware. The guarantee assumes the piece was assembled as instructed and, where required, fixed to a wall.
Missing or broken parts
We keep every component in stock. Email us the part number from the instructions and we post a replacement free, inside or outside guarantee, for as long as we make the piece.
Trade in
Separate from returns. When a child genuinely outgrows a piece, send it back in any condition short of broken and we credit you against the next size. See Trade In and Second Life.
Complaints
Email us first. If we cannot agree you may use an approved alternative dispute resolution provider, or the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
