Conversion kits are the whole argument for buying this furniture rather than the cheap version. A floor bed that becomes a single, a low wardrobe that grows a second rail and a shelf that gains a bay are three purchases avoided, and each kit is about a fifth of the price of the piece it saves. We keep the conversion parts for a range for ten years after we stop making it, and if you give us the original order number we will spray the new parts in the batch the original was sprayed in.

Assembly and safety

Flat packed with a hex key and printed instructions. Fittings are threaded steel inserts rather than screws into board, so it can be taken apart and rebuilt as the child moves rooms, which most of them will do twice. Every fixing is recessed and capped, and the caps are supplied in a small bag with spares, because one of them will be prised off and posted somewhere.

How long it lasts

This one converts rather than being replaced. The conversion kit is listed alongside it and is about a fifth of the price of the piece, which is the point. We keep the conversion parts for a range for ten years from the day we stop making it, so a piece bought for a first child can be brought back up to size for a third.
